While I do often state that it is a parent’s responsibility to teach their children about the world and many subjects, sometimes it seems like sex education is best left to the authorities and public schools. Ideally, this conversation happens in a comfortable, pressure-free environment of mutual trust, goodwill, and free exchange of information. However, there is a virtually infinite number of ways that parents can screw their kids up on this subject.
This is a subject that is only going to get more important in coming years. It is now nearly impossible to keep any given child of a reading age away from the internet. Listen, I learned the birds and the bees from magazines I stole out of my father’s closet. I don’t want my someday-children to learn about it from a Google search for Rule 34.
